The Lodge Des Peres is to be closed effective at close of business on March 16, 2020 and to remain closed indefinitely due to St. Louis County Department of Public Health Order related to COVID-19.
On Friday, 5/8/20, the St. Louis County Executive announced guidelines for reopening the County and reducing the current stay-at-home restrictions, which will go into effect on Monday, 5/18/20. Unfortunately, while some businesses will be permitted to resume or continue operations with certain modifications on this date, gyms and fitness centers, playgrounds, and indoor and outdoor public pools are indefinitely prohibited from opening.
To comply with the St. Louis County guidelines and regulations, we will not be opening The Lodge Des Peres or any park playground until further notice. Additionally, the order from St. Louis County does not allow for intentional gatherings of more than 10 individuals in a space, which will affect our programming, events, and summer camps. As of now, we plan to make a decision regarding the start of our 2020 Summer Camps at The Lodge in the upcoming weeks, or as soon as we receive new information from the St. Louis County. All sessions of Camp Des Peres have been cancelled as of 5/14/20.
Lodge members paying monthly will not be charged during this closure. Lodge members paying annually will have their memberships extended. Wet-N-Sweat cards, personal training and private lessons have also been extended for the amount of time we have been closed.
Des Peres Park, Pioneer Park and Sugar Creek Park continue to remain open (including restrooms). However, certain changes have been implemented for the health and safety of our guests and staff, and in an effort to mitigate the spread of COVID-19. We ask that everyone exercise caution when visiting our outdoor recreation spaces by adhering to the physical distancing guidelines (six feet between people), avoiding gathering in groups, and staying home if you are sick. We, along with the CDC and St. Louis County, encourage you to wear cloth masks when out in the public.
This situation is ever evolving and subject to change. As soon as we receive new information from St. Louis County, we will revisit our current operations and provide additional updates. The Lodge Des Peres home page website is dedicated to providing information regarding the direct impact of COVID-19 on the City’s facilities, programs, services, and events. We encourage you to check this frequently at www.TheLodgeDesPeres.com.
