After work session presentations and discussion on March 11 and April 22, the Board of Aldermen adopted a Forestry Plan on April 22, 2019. A contract with Gamma Tree Services to execute Phase 1 of the plan was approved at the April 8, 2019 Board of Aldermen meeting. Updates and additional information will be provided here in the future.
You may have seen one of these signs on a tree in your neighborhood. This is part of our effort to educate the public on the Emerald Ash Borer (EAB), and the need to remove ash trees from our urban forest. More detailed information is available in the Forestry Plan and from other agencies such as the Missouri Dept. of Agriculture and the Missouri Dept. of Conservation.
The 63 ash trees shown in yellow below are in Poor condition, and are scheduled for removal in 2019. The 150 ash trees shown in green are in Good condition, and will be treated in 2019 to prevent infestation by the EAB. Another 302 ash trees are in Fair condition, and will be removed over the next five years. More detailed maps are included in the Forestry Plan. If you have questions about a specific tree, please use our Report a Concern portal, providing not only the address but a detailed location (e.g. just north of driveway).
